Workshop

On October 20, 2023

Conf & Atelier research-création SJ Norman

Music research-creation workshop with Sally Jane NORMAN, Director of the New Zealand School of Music - Te Kōkī, at Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand. Her intervention is also part of the practical workshop of the REACH minor.

Sally Jane Norman's talk will be in two parts, with a lecture (in English) followed by a workshop.

The lecture, entitled Performance Technologies their Ghosts and their Progeny, will address the following issues:

  •     The interaction and joint formation of tools and human behavior,
  •     The development of technology for artistic purposes: some historical and contemporary examples,
  •     Artistic initiatives aimed at producing "deep diversity", to counter the normative powers of technology.

Examples will be drawn mainly from music / the world of sound. The presentation will be in English, with plenty of scope for questions/discussions/clarifications in French.
