Creative residency with the Babel compagy, involving M1 and M2

Since it was founded in 2008, the Babel company has created shows "based on interviews [conducted] with residents, professionals and experts during immersions and long-term surveys of territories". His theater has a documentary dimension, but this only partially defines it, since it incorporates fictional elements. For Élise Chatauret and Thomas Pondevie, "to be faithful is not to reproduce, but to translate in order to make words audible". The workshop will allow us to immerse ourselves in the company's investigative protocols and creative process, and to address the ethical issues they raise.

The Babel company will be working with students in the Master's degree course in Artistic Creation, Performing Arts, on two major projects:

• Wokshop "Writing theater from surveys: protocols and approaches of the Babel company"

Meeting with Thomas Pondevie and Élise Chatauret, co-directors of the Babel company.

Students in the Master's program in Artistic Creation and the Babel company are pleased to invite you to the residency launch of their new project, Conseil municipal.

Conseil municipal examines the ways in which we assemble and organize ourselves in society, starting from the local context. Based on a variety of documentary materials, including several interviews conducted by the students and an entire session of the Grenoble city council, the play examines the mechanisms of representation and participation where the decisions that shape our being-together are made.
