The documentary Barça ou Barzakh: Hopes and Aspirations of Migration (25 minutes, rough cut) emerges from the MOBILISE research project on migratory imaginaries.

Shot in Senegal in 2025, the film follows four intertwined stories — a fisherman, a carpenter, a basketball player, and a student — whose hopes and aspirations illuminate the collective endeavour of migration. Beyond individual narratives, the film highlights how family support, community resources, and spiritual guidance come together to sustain journeys towards Europe.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker Cosmin POPAN.

In addition, through a photographic exhibition (from October 13 to 31 at the MaCI), Cosmin POPAN presents images not included in the rough cut and additional biographical information on the film's four main characters.
