The discovery of northern North America in the 1000s by Vikings. By youth theatre DIY Theatre Co of Oxford, in partnership with the Grenoble - Oxford Alliance

 

As part of the regular cultural exchanges between the cities of Grenoble and Oxford and their universities, the Grenoble-Oxford Alliance is hosting a theatrical company of young artists, DIY Theatre Company from Oxford, for performances in early April. Their visit coincides this year with the 120th anniversary of the signing of the Entente Cordiale between Great Britain and France (8 April).

The premiere of a new musical by Chris Brain and Thomas Simpson, story by Tom Barry, additional music by Lyndon Chen will be performed by 16 actors and 11 musicians, all from Oxford.

Viking explorer Leif Erikson sets off across the Atlantic in search of the Americas. In a struggle against time, the elements and a rebellious crew, will he make it home to win the respect of his father - and see the birth of his child

Two performances are scheduled in the MaCI's Live Arts Lab:

Thursday 4 April at 5.30pm
Friday 5 April at 12.00 noon
